Supporting the People
Christianity began with Jesus and his native Jewish followers in Palestine and Israel 2,000 years ago.
Historic Christianity, therefore, grew out of ancient Judaism and the Jewish people. Since that time, Palestinian, Israeli, and Jordanian Christian families have been living there. Despite having to endure severe persecutions, economic hardship, and loss of opportunity at the hands of people of different faiths, they continue to try to peacefully coexist throughout the Holy Land, (their historic homeland), alongside their Jewish and Muslim neighbors.
These are the forgotten men, women, and children, who like you, are faithful and patriotic citizens of the states where they live. Like you, they desire nothing more than to freely worship God, raise their children, work their trades, and to live in peace.
The Equestrian Order of the Holy Sepulchre of Jerusalem directly supports, and works in cooperation with, the Latin Patriarchate of Jerusalem (The Catholic Church's diocese for the Holy Land - which includes Cyprus, Jordan, Israel, and Palestine) to meet the physical and spiritual needs of not only the region's native Catholic population, but in supporting and advocating for the well-being and security of all the people living in the Holy Land, regardless of professed faith or ethnicity.
We do this because all human life is sacred to God, without exception!
