Membership in the Order is a privilege and not automatic. Prospective new members must be nominated by existing members to join the Order. To be eligible for nomination in our Lieutenancy a person must present satisfactory evidence of the following personal characteristics:

The individual nominee must -

  1. Be an adult baptized member (Lay or Clergy and at least 25 years old) in good standing of the Latin-Rite Catholic Church.
  2. Exhibit an unwavering fidelity to the Pope who is the sovereign of the Order.
  3. Have an active faith demonstrated by a history of service in their local Parish, Diocese, and support of the global Catholic Church.
  4. Have a personal affinity for the people and sacred sites of the Holy Land.
  5. Reside within the geographic boundaries of the Northwestern Lieutenancy.
  6. Commit to fulfill a year of personal formation prior to Investiture and commit to fulfill the obligations of Membership.
